And still those horses were calling from far away…

It’s snowing, no one forecast has the same amount for us. So we could get 1-6 inches. Thank goodness I can walk to work. Brutus, as always, is outside enjoying himself, letting the neighborhood know that he loves snow.

I put up our tree the other day, AJ promptly started trying get ornaments off. His favorite game is to grab the ornament with his claw and pull down, so that when he lets go it goes shooting through the air. Which is why there are no glass ornaments on the tree.

I need wrap the last 2 gifts, prepare the last box to be mailed and try to finish the dishes.

Of course the Buckeyes don’t derserve it./Scrooged

They never do, do they? I think that even if they had beat the Patriots they wouldn’t get “props.”

I have talked to someone recently who cannot wait until January 2nd, so that everyone will be open everyday of the week. She truly reminded me of Ebenezer Scrooge. She thinks it’s silly to be closed just because of a holiday. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s and Saturdays are a complete inconvience to her because most businesses are closed those days. She doesn’t give any gifts to anyone. She needs a Jacob Marley intervention. It doesn’t really surprise me though, she’s a bit of a grump the rest of the year, too.

Oh well, they can’t all be pleased all of the time.

So off to watch Return of the Jedi.

We got the boxes out today but I wasn’t particularly in the mood to decorate. I got some stuff out. We don’t get our tree until next Sunday though.

Did anyone go shopping on Friday? Luke did. He actually went out to get some wings and ended up at Target.

30 days to go. I am grateful that our shopping is almost done.

from Abby.

I was reading her post about Christmas just now.

I put out an advent wreath every year and never light the candles. I can’t even remember what each candle is supposed to represent. This year I am determined to light the candles. So, if someone could help me out, I would be grateful. Also if you have any ideas for readings or songs or anything to go along with lighting the candles, I’m open to suggestions.

P.S. I love listening to Christmas music. Just not all day every day.

sort of.
it’s snowing here, has been since about 7:30 this morning. it’s just the wet, rainy type snow. but it is starting to stick. brutus is loving it.
i took a walk in it, torqued knee and all, to dollar general to get some candles and caulk.
i hurt myself yesterday hanging a blanket over a window (yeah, i know blankets aren’t curtains) to try to block drafts. i did only hang them where they can only be seen inside. we need to get weather stripping and plastic for other doors and windows. hopefully we can keep our heating bill from going up any more than it already has.
the animals have their special spots to stay warm, mostly as close as possible to a radiator.

i am a quarter of the way into half-blood prince, after i finish that and deathly hallows i think i am going to get a christmas carol from the library and try to read it.
